Happened to me with Magix Music Maker - which by the way is a hilarious product. Their products are usual found on the bargain counter, their complete lineup has very outdated GUIs, the licence / authentication method is a nightmare and if it fails you're on your own. Magix on the other hand is not a very trustworthy company in my opinion. Nothing against Vegas, it seems like a great Editor, too. Linus Techtips considered switching from Premiere to Resolve, cause Premiere is also unstable, and dated. it's the best non-linear video editor I've tried yet. Fusion is a Visual FX software, Resolve is a full fledged Video / Audio Editor, supports VST plugins, does not crash, superfast editing workflow. Also your comparison is not correct Resolve isn't "Fusion Studio". It took me like a week in my spare time to get the knack of Davinci, it's really not complicated.
